Here’s how most puppy training goes. You put in the work early, your puppy looks great, and then somewhere around eight to ten months old it all falls apart. Recall disappears, the jumping comes back, and your sweet puppy acts like they’ve never heard the word sit. That’s adolescence, and it’s exactly why we built Jumpstart.
Two Stays, Timed for How Puppies Actually Grow Up
Stay one: 3 weeks. We lock in the foundation: name recognition, recall, sit and down with stays, hand targeting, heel and loose-leash walking, plus crate and house training and calm handling for the vet and groomer.
Stay two: 2 weeks, a couple of months later. Your pup goes home, lives with what they learned, and comes back right as adolescence starts testing all of it. We tighten it all back up so it holds through the teenage phase instead of fading.
Two touchpoints beat one long stay that wears off by the time your dog grows up.
Who It’s For
Puppies usually start their first stay between 3 and 6 months old, go home, and come back a couple of months later for the second. The whole program should wrap up by 14 months at the latest, so the earlier you start, the better. Not sure where your pup fits? Call us and we’ll talk it through.
What’s Included
Twice-weekly video report cards. I personally walk through each exercise with your puppy on video, what to look for and how to move it forward, so you can follow along at home.
Five handover lessons in your home. The training has to transfer to you, in the place you’ll actually use it.
A full starter kit: collar, leash, bait bag, treats, enrichment toys, and a head halter.
Price
$5,000 for the full 5-week program. Second dog and every dog after that: 10% off.
Booking
Every puppy starts with a free Meet & Greet day of daycare. A 50% deposit holds your spot, with the balance due at drop-off. Fully refundable if training hasn’t started. After that, we ask for one week’s notice or a $250 cancellation fee.
What to Pack
Send a little more food than the stay: 24 days for the 3-week stay and 17 days for the 2-week stay. The rest of the packing list is on our boarding page.
A Tip for the In-Between Months
When your teenager suddenly ‘forgets’ sit, don’t repeat the cue five times. Say it once, wait a few seconds, and if nothing happens, quietly help them into it or reset and try again. Repeating the cue teaches your dog that the first four don’t count. Use your video report cards to keep practicing a few minutes a day between stays.
